Description
This Holroyd 40″ Gear Hobbing Machine comes from one of the most historically significant names in precision gear manufacturing. Founded in Manchester in 1860, Holroyd invented the thread milling process itself in 1897 and went on to become a world leader in gear cutting technology, including hobbing machines like this one. In 1931, the company set a world record for worm gear efficiency — 98.2%, measured at the UK’s National Physical Laboratory — a record that reportedly still stands today. Still operating from Rochdale, England as PTG Holroyd, the company remains a world leader in precision gear and rotor grinding technology.
